New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) The Chinese smartphone brand Realme on Tuesday launched its two pocket friendly smartphones-- Realme 5 and Realme 5 pro-- targetting the Indian millennials.
According to Realme CEO Madhav Sheth, Realme 5 comes with a base price of Rs 9,999 for 3GB/32GB variant, while the smartphone also comes in 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB variants that are priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 11,999.
The smartphone goes on its first sale on 27 August at 1200 hrs.
The Realme 5 Pro also comes in three variants, 4GB/64GB starting at Rs 13,999, 6GB/64GB priced at Rs 14,999 and a 8GB/128GB priced at Rs 16,999. The first sale for Realme 5 Pro will take place on September 4 at 12 noon.
It comprises of four cameras at the back in a 12MP+8MP+2MP+2MP configuration, first the 12MP primary sensor is fitted with a wide angle lens while the 8MP sensor has an ultra-wide lens. One of the 2MP cameras acts as a dedicated macro sensor while the other one helps capture depth information. A 13MP front facing camera sits under a dew-drop shaped notch on the display.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage along with a 6.5-inch LCD display and full HD resolution, it is backed by a 5,000mAh battery.
Mr Sheth also announced the launch of new accessories like Realme buds 2, an iconic case for the smartphone and a fancy Tote bag which will be available in India on sale starting September 4.
On the other hand, Realme 5 Pro features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and flaunts the new Crystal Design with a holographic colour effect. The phone will be launched in Sparkling Blue and Crystal Green colours.
The smartphone also features quad-camera setup on the back with a 48MP+8MP+2MP+2MP configuration, the 48-megapixel is primary shooter with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel f/2.25 ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel camera for portraits, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
Realme 5 Pro is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC and includes a 4,035mAh battery, which makes it one of a kind.
It uses VOOC 3.0 fast charging and the box also contains a 20W USB Type-C fast charger.
The CEO also spoke of Realme's new smartphone Realme XT launch in late-September with 64-megapixel primary shooter and a total of four cameras on the back, taglining it as 'Quad me up when September ends'.
