Real face of BJP stands exposed after the party raised Ayodhya issue: Owaisi

Kishanganj, Jul 12 (UNI) AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi today said the ruling BJP at the Centre stood exposed after the party raised the issue of construction of a temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
Mr Owaisi said here that Mr Modi as the PM candidate of BJP had promised during 2014 Lok Sabha elections to take together all sections of the society on path of development and people supported him accepting his words. However, after BJP raised the issue of temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, it was revealed that the party's actions were in contrast to its claims of tolerance, he added.
After becoming Prime Minister, Mr Modi did not bother to honour his promise and his party raised the issue of construction of temple of Lord Rama at disputed site of Ayodhya when next Lok Sabha elections were few months away, he pointed out.
"How any one can believe the words of Mr Modi and his party BJP when changes in their stand become visible when they see parliamentary elections round the corner,"Mr Owaisi said, adding that the days were gone when people used to fall into trap of tall promises of leaders and time had come for them to teach a strong lesson to those trying to take common man for a ride.
Mr Owaisi said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi did not visit any mosque during Gujarat assembly elections but opted to seek blessings at more than 50 temples in the state, just for votes.
Such kind of approach could never be described as secular, he remarked.
