Real estate agent arrested for murder of colleague in Palghar

Palghar, Jul 12 (UNI) The district police have arrested a 35-year- old real estate agent from Umbargaon of Gujarat on the charges of allegedly brutally killing another at Talasari and for destruction of evidence.
It was on July one the victim, Lalit Vakharia (48, of Bhayander) was strangled to death by an unidentified person and his body was found abandoned in his car at Paras Wadi of Talasari.
Then, the Talasari police had registered an offence under section 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code against the unidentified accused, police said on Friday.
The Local Crime Branch worked on various possibilities and formed three teams to trace the accused persons.
The police took into custody the accused, Mayur Bhandari, who had business dealings with Vakharia.
Annoyed with Vakharia over not being able to contact him on the phone, Bhandari, who himself was in deep financial trouble with his financiers pestering him for money, decided to settle scores.
Hence, with the help of one of his friends, he hatched a plan and called the victim to Talasari on the fateful day on the pretext of a land deal.
There, Bhandari strangulated Vakharia to death and left his body in the car and fled the scene.
The police are now on the lookout of the associates of the accused, sources added.
