RCB bring in Nehra and Gary Kristen for latest IPL season

RCB bring in Nehra and Gary Kristen for latest IPL season

Bengaluru, Jan 2 (UNI) Amid deep churning expected in the players

line-up and the coaching staff in the coming Indian Premier League

(IPL) season this summer, Bangalore Royal Challengers (RCB) have

requisitioned just retired Ashish Nehra as bowling coach.

The IPL franchise also called in prolific protea Gary Kristen as

the batting coach with Kiwi Daniel Vettori continue as the chief

coach for the much awaited season.

The 11th edition of the cash rich T20 tournament will begin this

summer across India and it will be bolstered with the re-entry of

former champions Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who were

barred for two years on corruption charges

The teams face a tough challenge to retain their top players as

the player auction will be free and teams quoting higher price can

pocket them, RCB will face a tough task to retain Virat Kohli, De

Villers and Chris Gayle.

However, with the player auction yet to happen, RCB finalised

Kristen and Nehra as main cogs with Vettori in among the coaching

staff, RCB sources today said.

The South African has signed the contract last week with the

Bengaluru side. He was earlier had a stint as the coach of Delhi

Daredevils.

RCB though a favourite team in terms of strong line up, has not

won a title in 10 years.

Commenting on the new appointments, Vettori said in a statement

on Tuesday said that inclusion of 'Gary and Ashish to the coaching

team for Royal Challengers Bangalore will help build a team that

come with flying colours'.
