Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ opens strong, crosses Rs 50 crore

New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) Ranveer Singh’s high-octane spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, has kicked off its box office journey with a strong opening weekend, showing impressive momentum and growth.
After a solid debut, earning an estimated Rs 27 crore net in India on opening day, the film continued its upward trajectory on Saturday.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film raked in approximately Rs 31 crore net on Day 2 across all languages.
With this, Dhurandhar has officially crossed the Rs 50 crore mark, posting a two-day total of Rs 58 crore net, aligning closely with early box office predictions of Rs 57–59 crore net.
The film’s strong opening indicates widespread excitement for this action-packed spectacle. Coupled with favorable reviews and positive word-of-mouth, Saturday’s box office boost reinforced its standing at theatres nationwide.
Morning shows recorded a modest 17.26 percent occupancy, which grew through the afternoon (42.65 percent) and peaked during night shows at 63.16 percent, leading to an overall Hindi occupancy of 39.63 percent.
Multiplexes and single screens alike saw significant growth, highlighting the film’s appeal to both urban and mass audiences. Sacnilk reports that the domestic gross stood at an estimated Rs 69.75 crore by the end of Saturday. Overseas collections added around Rs 7.6 crore, pushing the worldwide total to approximately Rs 77.35 crore. If momentum continues, Dhurandhar could be on track for a Rs 100 crore worldwide weekend.
Early predictions had suggested a ‘Day 2’ collection in the Rs 30–32 crore range. With Saturday’s strong performance, the film is now tracking a Rs 90 crore net opening weekend, potentially marking it as one of Ranveer Singh’s biggest commercial hits.
The film delves into an underworld saga, following a web of criminals, informants, and operatives navigating espionage, covert operations, and betrayals.
The ensemble cast features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun, complementing Ranveer Singh in this action-packed thriller.
