Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Mar 11 2016 12:22PM Ranee Narah, Ripun Bora named Cong candidates for Assam RS pollsGuwahati, Mar 11 (UNI) The ruling Congress today named former Union minister Ranee Narah and former state minister Ripun Bora as candidates for the two Rajya Sabha seats from Assam, election for which will be held on March 21. Congress sources confirmed nomination of Narah and Bora for the two seats, which were held by the Congress itself. The two Congress candidates will file their nomination on the state Assembly premises within 1,500 hrs today as it is the last date for submission of nomination. A legislative party meeting of the Congress here last night had decided on the two candidates, which was announced today. Congress, which claims to have support of 78 MLAs out of total 114 sitting MLAs, is likely to retain both seats. The opposition parties have not announced any candidates till now.
