Rana Sodhi approves cycle rally route from Amritsar to Dera Baba Nanak

Chandigarh, Oct 3 (UNI) The Punjab Sports department is organizing various activities in view of the 550th Prakash Purb of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
As part of the calendar released by the department, a cycle rally would be organized by the department from Amritsar to Dera Baba Nanak on November 3. The route of the rally was approved by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi in a high level meeting held here on Thursday.
Divulging the details, the Minister said that the rally would commence from Guru Nanak Stadium, Amritsar and passing through Majitha Byepass and Fatehgarh Churian, would culminate at Dera Baba Nanak. The rally would cover4 64.9 km and 550 players would participate. Halt Points would be set up at every 15 km which would be equipped with every facility and the volunteers would also be deputed for the assistance of the participating cyclists. Out of these, 100 cyclists would be from the cycling coaching centres. Each cyclist completing the race would be given a medal and a certificate.
