Kolkata, Jan 31 (UNI) Ramkumar Ramanathan will spearhead India's challenge in new format Davis Cup Qualifiers-2019 against Italy's Andreas Seppi, once World No 18, in the first singles match to be played on grass at South Club here beginning on Friday
India’s No 1 Prajnesh Gunneswaran, World No 102, however, has been drawn against debutant Matteo Berrettini (22) in the second singles rubber immediately after the first singles play, which is taking place here after 2003.
In the doubles match to be played on Saturday at the centre court, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan will lead India against Italy's duo Marco Cecchinato and Simone Bolleli. In the reverse singles Prajnesh Gunneswaran will take on Andre Seppi of Italy and Ramkumar Ramanathan will vie against Matteo Berrettini at the last match.
