Ramesh Chennithala criticises CPI(M) MLA's remarks against Subcollector

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 11 (UNI) Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala has strongly criticised CPI(M) MLA S Rajendran's abusive language against Devikulam Subcollector Ms Renu Raj.
The Devikulam MLA landed into a controversy when a team of Revenue Department officials reached Munnar Grama Panchayat in Idukki district to issue a stop memo to an under construction shopping complex, Ramesh said in a press release here on Monday.
The MLA used abusive words against the Subcollector when she came to take action against the illegal construction in Munnar, Ramesh added.
Alleging that CPI (M) leaders used to threaten officials who take strong action against encroachers, he said the ruling party which is responsible for taking steps against illegal was supporting illegal construction.
Meanwhile, former KPCC president wrote a letter to Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan seeking action against the MLA.
