Ram Vichar Netam, Chhaya Verma elected to RS from Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jun 3 (UNI) The ruling Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Secretary Ram Vichar Netam and the principal opposition Congress’ Chhaya Verma were today elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh.
Returning Officer and Principal Secretary (Assembly) Devendra Verma formally declared them elected unopposed with the time for withdrawal of nominations over at 1500 hrs today. Thus, the leader duo made their maiden entry to the Upper House.
The biennial elections to two vacant Rajya Sabha seats from Chhattisgarh was necessitated due to the retirement of BJP's two-time MP Nand Kumar Sai and Congress' two-time MP Mohsina Kidwai.
