Raju Pal murder case witness attacked

Allahabad, Oct 7 (UNI) An attempt was made on Friday night on the life of Rukhsana Begum, an eye-witness in the 2005 sensational murder of former BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005, according to a FIR lodged with the city police.
The incident occurred in the Bakshi Modha area of the city.
According to the FIR lodged by Begum, some people had entered her house from the terrace and opened fire. However, she managed to lock herself up in a room and informed the police on telephone.

On receiving the call, a police party rushed to the spot but the attackers managed to flee under the cover of darkness.
The complainant has identified some of the attackers as Maqsood, Maqbool, Mamud, Mubarak, Mamu and Israr alias Guddu. A hunt is on for the attackers.
Raju Pal, Bahujan Samaj Party BSP candidate from Allahabad west, had defeated the brother of muscleman Atiq Ahmad, Khalid Ajim alias Mohammad Asharaf in the 2004 Assembly elections.
Pal and his two gunners were killed in an attack just after four months of election in Sulem Sarai Bazar on Jaunuary 25, 2005. Rukhsana is eyewitness to that incident.
