Rajnikant mesmerises fans through his new flic 'Kabali'

Bengaluru, Jul 22 (UNI) The fans of superstar Rajnikant went into frenzy early in the morning when his latest and much awaited movie 'Kabali' was released in as many as 300 screens in Karnataka and some cinema halls starting the shows as early at 3 AM today. Fans thronged the theatres in a determined bid to watch the movie 'first day first show'. Cries of'Thaliva', 'Thaliva' in high decibels hit the air as they raised full throated praise of their hero and garlanded massive posters that had sprung up overnight. These posters had huge flower garlands and some even resorted to milk offering to these poster. Grey market operators had a field day making fast buck as tickets were sold in black at a high rate of up to Rs 1500. Reports, however, said fans who went to Chennai on a special Air Asia’s special flight to catch the first show of Kabali from Bengaluru to Chennai were disappointed, as the airline changed the screening venue at the last minute. In the city, huge traffic snarls were witnessed closer to screens that were showing the movie. Meanwhile, tension prevailed at Sheshadripuram in the city today when pro-Kannada activist and president of Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha Vatal Nagaraj and his followers staged a protest against the release of the Tamil blockbuster saying other language films had affected Kannada cinema industry. The firebrand pro-Kannada activist alleged that permission to release the movie across the state in such a large scale had affected the other Kannada movies and demanded the state government to give prominence to local language movies. Understandably this irated Rajinikant fans, who had gathered at Nataraj theatre to watch Kabali, got wind of the protest and began to walk towards the protest venue, a few metres away. They also raised slogans. Sensing trouble, the police chased the crowds by resorting to mild lathi charge. The police later detained Mr Nagaraj and his supporters and whisked them away from the spot. The situation was brought under control after additional police forces were deployed. Additional police force was deployed in sensitive areas to monitor law and order, police sources said.
