Rajiv Gandhi visualised digital India concept: Diggy

Betul, MP, May 25 (UNI) Raining fire on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his much-hyped digital India concept, Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh said the base of Digital India was started by former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. “The late prime minister wanted to introduce computer but the BJP leaders opposed it, citing that in would beget unemployment. Now, this very people are talking about digitilisation,” Mr Singh, came here for campaigning for Congress candidate for Ghoradungri by-election, told media. Hitting out at Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former chief minister said Mr Chouhan’s “Rath” was stuck in sand at Fofalya village yesterday but he predicted that the Chief Minister would also be named in illegal sand scandal. Mr Singh alleged that Mr Chouhan was luring voters and he would lodge complaint with the Election Commission in this regard. He also raised the issue of corruption by state regime during the just-concluded Simhasth in Ujjain and said corruption took place in purchasing each and every thing. About Congress’ debacle in Assam assembly polls, the senior Congress leader reiterated that there was enough introspection, now, time had come to initiate action. Mr Singh said that he fought for the rights of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jasodaben.
