Rajiv case life convict Nalini moves HC for one month parole extension

Chennai, Aug 20 (UNI) S Nalini (52) one of the seven life convicts in the former
Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, on Tuesday moved the Madras
High Court seeking one month extension of her parole to complete arrangements
for her daughter's marriage.
Admitting her plea, a Division Bench comprising Justice M M Sundaresh and Justice
M Nirmal Kumar directed the Tamil Nadu state government to file its reply by August 22.
Nalini moved the court after the Vellore prison authorities refused her request for extension
of parole by a month.
In her plea, she said despite her best efforts all arrangements for her daughter's marriage
could not be completed.
She said she needed one more month to complete the wedding arrangements.
Stating that her daughter was residing in London with her husband Murugan alias Sriharan's
brother, Nalini said and they were likely to visit India in the first week of next month.
She said after their arrival, she needed time to make arrangements for the marriage and prayed
for extending the parole by one more month.
