Chennai, Mar 28 (UNI) Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth today congratulated the national award winners, including music maestro Ilayaraja, from the State. Talking to reporters at the airport here, he said 'it is a great honour for Tamil cinema. I whole heartedly congratulate the national award winners including Ilayaraja'. 'They have made us proud', he added. The tamil film industry bagged five awards including three awards for the film 'Visaranai', which was venture of Rajni's son-in-law Dhanush. Visaranai, directed by Vetrimaaran, won the best regional language movie, best supporting actor for Samudhirakani and best editing for T E Kishore, who passed away recently. Maestro Ilayaraja won the award for best background score for his 1000th film 'Tharai Thappatai', directed by Bala and young Ritika Singh bagged the award in her first movie itself.
