Jaipur, Nov 18 (UNI) The ruling BJP in the state is facing the anger of government employees in the ensuing assembly polls in Rajasthan who are disgruntlef as their demands for implementation of 7th pay commission, recruitment of staffs, retirement benefits and enhanced pay grade have not been met.
The government staffers were on strike across the state for their demands for acceptance of their demands by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje but had to call off after the election commission of India announced the polls date and the model code of conduct came into force .
When there is model code of conduct, no government can take any decision.
On condition of anonymity, an employee working in Rajasthan University told UNI, “We were supposed to receive the benefits of 7th Pay Commission with retrospective effect from 2016 but the Raje government is giving from 2017. We will have to incur a loss of our one year salaries.”
“We had tried to convince the chief minister but she was adamant,” the employee added.
Said an electricity department employee,'we were demanding implementation of our 16 points agenda but the state government deliberately delayed it and have not executed it till date.'
'We will not give vote to BJP and are even looking to cast our votes on NOTA,” an employee working in Jaipur secretariat said.
The electricity department employees in Ajmer are also unhappy with the state government after the distribution of power supply was given to Tata Group.
“The government is heading towards privatisation of electricity department. We are opposing this move,” an employee of the department said.
A person deployed in state security establishment said, “We (voters) change the government after every five years. It’s like our tradition. We believe in everybody should get chance for developing the state.”
With the state having over 10 lakh state government workers and pensioners, their vote in the coming elections could well determine the fate of the BJP government.
In a 200-member Rajasthan assembly, the BJP has announced the name of 170 candidates while the Congress has announced candidates for all seats..
The state goes on polls on December 7 and the votes will be counted on December 11.
