Raja, Jasmin smash records at weightlifting nationals

Nagrota Bhagwan (HP), Oct 9 (UNI) The National Weightlifting Championships 2024, held at the prestigious Rainbow Khelo India Residential Academy, witnessed historic achievements as Muthupandi Raja and Sufna Jasmin set new national records in their respective categories.
On Monday, 21-year-old Sufna Jasmin captured the gold medal in the women’s 45kg category with a total lift of 169kg, comprising 76kg in the snatch and 93kg in the clean and jerk.
In doing so, Jasmin broke two national records: surpassing Komal Kohar’s 74kg snatch record and Jhilli Dalabehera’s total lift record of 164kg. However, Dalabehera’s clean and jerk record of 94kg remains intact.
