Raj Nivas Picketing : Police arrest Teachers, staff of Govt aided private schools

Puducherry, Oct 26(UNI) As many as 150 teachers and staff of the government aided private schools were arrested here on Monday when they marched ahead from Immaculate Conception Cathedral to picket Raj Nivas.
Demanding that their 11 months pending salary be disbursed forthwith and other demands, the teachers and staff gathered in front of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and attempted to march towards the Raj Nivas.
However, police stopped them and they squat on the road and staged a dharna where DMK (North) Vonvener S P Sivakumar and AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan extended support to their stir and addressed them.
