Raj Babbar appointed UP Congress president
New Delhi, Jul 12 (UNI) The Congress today appointed Rajya Sabha MP Raj Babbar as Uttar Pradesh party unit president, ahead of Assembly polls in the state, to be held early next year, Senior party leader Ghulam Nazi Azad made the announcement while briefing mediapersons here. "Mr Babbar is a native of Uttar Pradesh. He had also been MP from the state,'' Mr Azad said. Commenting on role of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the coming electoral battle for this most populous state, Mr Azad said the party will utilise her services in most efficient manner as per the requirements. He said a campaign committee and a coordination committee will also be formed in coming days. More UNI RG/AR RP1908
