Mathura, Jan 22 (UNI) Rail traffic on Mathura-Delhi route was disrupted after 15 coaches of cement-laden goods train derailed between Bhuteshwar and Vrindavan stations late Friday night.
Railway sources here on Saturday said due to the accident, all the trains coming towards Mathura have been diverted.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, local officials of railway and police administration reached the spot, they added.
Railway team was working on war footing to remove coaches from the track. However, due to fog, they are facing problems and bogies are being removed by help of big cranes.
Important trains including Rajdhani, Shatabdi trains, Yuva Special coming from Mumbai have been diverted through separate routes to reach Delhi.
According to Dr. Shivam Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, all three lines (up, down and third line) were damaged due to overturning of 15 coaches of goods train going from Rajasthan to Ghaziabad on Mathura-Palwal main track at Vrindavan-Bhuteshwar.
Due to the incident, 10 trains were cancelled and 11 were diverted.
