New Delhi, Jul 12 (UNI) Outgoing Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday thanked RSS and BJP for providing platforms and opportunities to take his ideological battle against them to the public.
"I am in Ahmedabad today, to appear in another case filed against me by my political opponents in the RSS/ BJP. I thank them for providing me these platforms & opportunities to take my ideological battle against them to the public", Mr Gandhi tweeted.
"Satyameva Jayate", the Congress leader added just before he appeared before the metro court in connection with a defamation case filed by the Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank (ADC bank) chairman Ajay Patel.
The defamation case was filed against Mr Gandhi for his remark, statements and social media posts about the alleged large-scale deposit of scrapped Rs 500 and 1000 notes in ADC bank.
It is learnt that more than 20 cases have been filed against the Wayanad MP across the country by workers of BJP and RSS.
Earlier, Mr Gandhi had appeared Mumbai court and Patna court in separate defamation cases filed against him.
Mr Gandhi had resigned from from the party president post recently taking responsibility for the dismal performance of the Congress in the recent Lok Sabha polls, in which his party bagged just 52 seats against BJP's 303.
