Rahul says BJP will be swept away in 2019 poll ; recalls grandmother at Chikkamagalur

Chikkamagalur, Karnataka, Mar 21 (UNI) AICC President Rahul Gandhi today said the non -performing BJP-led NDA government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be swept away in the 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
Addressing a rally as part of partry's 'Jana Adesha' Yatra here on the second day of his third leg of his Assembly election visit to Karnataka, covering Coastal and Malnad regions, Mr Gandhi said that Mr Modi had duped the people of the country with his 'bundle of lies' and has completed four years of rule without any notable achievement and the remaining year would also see that he would not be able to achieve anything big.
He said unlike his predecessors, including former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee and Indira Gandhi who were empathetic and kind to people and took the country forward without boasting their performance, Mr Modi and the BJP was spreading hatred among the people . He claimed that Mr Modi was claiming sole responsibility for the progress of the country.
He was confident that the Congress would bounce back to power with the overwhelming support of the people and assured that his party would take steps to ensure greater employment opportunities.
Mr Gandhi recalled the love and affection shown by the people of Coffee land Chikkamagalur to his grand mother Indira Gandhi and ensuring her victory. He said that he would ensure that the people of this district got what they deserved. He would serve them at the beck of their call.
Mr Gandhi began the day with meetings with district Congress leaders in Mangaluru and later had discusssion with senior leaders. He later visited the Sringeri Sharadamba Temple and offered his prayers. He also held a 30 minute meeting with Sringeri Sharada Peetam Shankaracharya, Bharathi Teertha Swamiji and interacted with the students of the Sanskrit school there.
