Rahul Roy to begin his second innings in Bollywood with ‘The Message’

New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) After being away from the silver screen for over a decade, Bollywood heartthrob Rahul Roy is all set to embark on his second innings in tinsel town with a film based on a social message. Rahul Roy, who had made an impressive debut with ‘Aashiqui’- one of the greatest musical blockbusters of 90s – will don the greasepaint for ‘The Message’, which set to go on floor in mid-March this year. Rahul will be seen sharing his screen space with Narendra Jha and Trivikram Mattoo in the film, being directed by Vierendrra Lalit. The film also marks the debut of Rahul Roy as a producer under his banner ‘Great entertainment’. Talking on his new innings also as a producer, Rahul Roy said, “we are trying to give strong cinema with a strong message. Under the Great Entertainment, we wish to make movies with difference, a movie that can makes you proud, makes you smile or emotional as well. A heart-warming and meaningful cinema is what we are focusing on”. Actor Narendra Jha, who had played in various characters on screen like Dr Hilal Meer in Vishal Bhardwaj's ‘Haider’ and Musa in recently released Rahul Dholakia's Raees, will be playing a pivotal role in the movie. ‘The Message’ is a film that brings to the masses the message that the belief of public has shaken whether it is system or administration. Narendra Jha will play the protagonist to boost confidence among the people and re-establish faith among the masses. Talking about the film, Narendra Jha said,’’I believe the subject of the film plays a vital role and if it can create opportunities to learn and give reason to think to the audience, it makes for a great cinema with entertainment. In daily life there are many issues going around us that creates awakening for us and make us think about them.’’ ‘The Message’ will also be the first carbon-neutral film compensating carbon emitted during its making through eco-friendly activities. The producers have also decided to donate 5 per cent of the film’s income to the widows of the Army Martyrs. UNI SDR/AR SHK 1600
