Rahul meets dissident MLAs to resolve crisis in Arunachal Congress

Itanagar, Feb 6 (UNI) The dissident Congress MLAs in Arunachal Pradesh today said they met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and urged him to ''hand over the reins of the party to Kalikho Pul by replacing former chief minister Nabam Tuki and divest AICC general secretary V Narayanswamy as party in charge of Arunachal Pradesh.''
''The AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi invited us at his office to find out a way to resolve the existing differences within the state Congress Legislative Party and assured us that he would look into our request considerately and come out with a solution within six months,'' a press release issued jointly by 21 dissident Arunachal Congress MLAs said here.
The release said that the dissidents met Mr Gandhi last evening and explained to him about a series of unprecedented political events that led to clamping of the President’s Rule in the state, ''due to mis-governance and lawlessness created by ex-Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and his supporters.''
