Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Riding on KL Rahul's sensational knock of 100* runs off 64 balls (6 fours and 6 sixes ), KXIP posted a total of runs in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians in an IPL match here at Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday.
After put in to bat first, openers gave KXIP a blazing start. Chris Gayle and KL Rahul put on 116-run partnership for the opening wicket.
Chris Gayle got out in the bowling of Behrendorff after scoring 63 quick runs in 36 balls with 3 fours and 7 sixes.
However, Mumbai fought back with some wickets in the middle-overs.
But, a flourish at the end ensured KXIP reached 197 for 4 in 20 overs with Rahul scoring his maiden IPL hundred.
For MI, Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets while Bumrah and Behrendorff took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians stand-in captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided to bowl.
MI captain Rohit Sharma couldn’t play as he was given rest in this match due to an injury during a practice on Tuesday.
KXIP are placed at third spot on the points table with four wins in the six matches while MI are placed at fifth spot on the points table with three wins in five matches.
