The Congress chief while campaigning in Chhattisgarh on Sunday had challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a 15-minute debate on the controversy over Rafael deal with France and the turmoil in the CBI. He had said the PM would not be able to answer his questions.
"The people of Amethi in 2014 Lok Sabha elections had elected a 'factory of lies' who never cared for the people of his constituency. The present MP and his father who were regularly elected from Amethi never cared for the local people while the Yogi Adityanath government has launched projects worth 448 crore and most of the schemes would be completed by December,’’ said energy minister Srikant Sharma. He had accompanied the Union minister for textiles Smriti Irani to Amethi.
UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also attacked the Congress president saying,"Rahul Gandhi, being a dynast can become the president of the party but can never be the prime minister of the country". He said even after over three decades of the prime minister representing this constituency as many 13 villages were not linked to all whether roads and the BJP government allocated Rs 35 crore for the roads in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.
"Those unable to handle their own Lok Sabha constituency are nursing lofty dream and they cannot handle states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh’’, said Srikant Sharma adding "If you want the rapid development of the area then liberate the Gandhi family from Raibarely and Amethi and ensure uninterrupted development of the two constituencies."
