Rahul dismisses controversy over ‘woman’ remark on Nirmala Sitharaman

Dubai, Jan 12 (UNI) Dismissing the controversy over his woman’ remark on Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the central issue was that Prime Minister Narendra Modi helped Anil Ambani with the Rs 30,000 crore offset contract in the Rafale deal and that he failed to come to Parliament to defend himself.
Talking to reporters here, Rahul, responding to a question on his remarks, said,' Don’t impose your sexism on me. The central issue is Rafale. The Prime Minister helped Anil Ambani with the Rs 30000 cr offset contract in the Rafale deal.
PM should have defended himself. However, he chose to send someone else. That person happened to be a woman.. I would have chosen to make the same comment had it been a man. I would have said he send a man.'
