Radhanagari irrigation dam overflows

Kolhapur, July 20 (UNI) The Radhanagari irrigation dam, the main drinking water resources of Kolhapur city and some tehsils of this district, was filed today to its capacity with cointuned light to moderate rainfall recorded in catchment areas of reservior.
According to district irrigation department, three and six number automatic gates of the dam opened at 1500 hours for the first time in this rainy season. The water storage of the dam stood at 8.35 TMC with started discharging total 4456 cusex excess water from its two automatic gates in the basin of Bhigavati river.
The dam filed nearly a month early, which had crossed to its capacity on August 26th last year, August-3 in 2016 and August 24 in 2015.
