Rabi crop season to be completed within 120 days in Godavari delta4: Irrigation Meet resolves

Kakinada, Nov 24 (UNI) The East and West Godavari districts Irrigation Advisory Committee (IAC) at its meeting held at the Anam Kalakendra at Rajahmundry on Tuesday has resolved to complete the Rabi paddy crop cultivation within 120 days and close the Godavari canals by March 31, keeping in view the need for expeditious execution of Polavaram project works.

It also resolved to create awareness among the farmers on the need for curtailing the Rabi crop season making judicious use of available water. When several public representatives requested for advance action plan to ensure that entire ayacut under the Godavari delta system should be supplied water for irrigation , the meeting has decided to meet both the irrigation and drinking water requirements with the available 90 TMC water .
