New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Former External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, ex-Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and erstwhile Defence Minister George Fernandes were on Saturday among the seven people named for the second highest civilian award of India ‘Padma Vibhushan on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day, a Government release said.
They were conferred the award for their contribution in the field of Public Service.
Flyweight World Boxing champion and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament MC Mary Kom was also named for the Padma Vibhushan.
Former Prime Minister of Mauritius Sir Anerood Jugnauth and classical Hindustani musician Chhanu Lal Mishra was also conferred the prestigious award.
Vishveshateertha Swamiji Sri Pejavara Adhokhaja Matha Udupi has also been selected for this award posthumously.
