Quality education priority of Himachal govt : Min

Kangra, Jun 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban development Minister Sarween Chaudhary on Tuesday said that special efforts were being taken to provide quality education to the students in the state and in this direction new programmes have been introduced.
She said that there is a strong network of the educational institutions with modern facilities available to them in the state.
The Minister was addressing a public meeting at Naleti in Shahpur assembly constituency after she laid the foundation stone of additional block of the Govt High School being constructed at the cost of Rs 20 lakhs.
Ms Chaudhary said that the adequate staff is available in these educational institutions and process of appointing additional staff too was in progress. She said that for the current financial year Rs 7598 crore have been earmarked for education in the state.
She said that government was committed for providing quality education in all educational institutions from Primary to the College level and because of this commitment all facilities were being provided in these institutions.
She said besides ICT laboratory facilities video conference facilities in the schools and colleges is being made available to provide online education to the students. She suggested that academic education alone was not important but moral and social education too was equally important.

Bhopal, July 5 (UNI) Arrangements are underway for treatment of sufferers identified during a door-to-door survey under the ongoing Kill Corona campaign in Madhya Pradesh.
It is heartening that the general public is playing a supporting role along with officers and other employees associated with the crusade. As many as 1,776 teams in urban areas and 8,975 in rural ones are operational. Patients with symptoms of seasonal maladies are also being pinpointed. In excess of 11,000 samples were collected and a population of more than two crore covered, an official release said on Sunday.

MP CM meets Food Minister

Bhopal, July 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ramvilas Paswan at the latter’s New Delhi residence on Sunday and discussed quandaries pertaining to wheat procurement, bonus plus ration for transient labourers.
“In the previous fiscal, 73.70 lakh metric tonnes of wheat were procured from peasants of which 67.25 lakh MT were accepted in the central pool. I urge that the remainder be included in the pool soon, so that payment may be disbursed to cultivators. Regarding provisions for migrant workers, approximately 13 lakh returned to the state but of them 1.90 lakh have been unable to obtain provisions owing to non-availability of cards,” the visiting politician was officially quoted as saying.

MP CM raises Sainik School issue

Bhopal, July 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a courtesy call on Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh on Sunday at the latter’s New Delhi residence – the first such interaction after the former politician assumed this state’s reins in March, official sources said.
During the meeting, the visiting leader urged establishment of a Sainik School within Chambal Division, which is long pending.
