QNET eyes tapping India’s direct selling market, sets target of Rs 800 crore

By Suresh K Tiwary

George Town (Malaysia), May 15 (UNI) Despite all odds including a number of criminal cases registered against the Independent Representatives (IRs) and distributors, the prominent Asian Direct Selling company QNET is bullish on the Indian market, setting a target above Rs 800 crore in the current fiscal.

Talking to UNI at the five-day V-Malaysia global convention which culminated here recently, Mr Rishi Chandiok, the Regional Director (South Asia) asserted that though there were so many issues related to Direct Selling Business in India, QNET was making efforts to notch major part of the Indian market.

'The company was now looking at growing its business in healthcare, fast moving consumer goods, luxury and holidays segments,' Mr Chandiok said, adding that the company was looking at more investment following favorable guidelines for direct selling announced by the government.

He said, "We expect 15 per cent growth of sales turnover at Rs 805 crore in the current fiscal. Major growth in healthcare and luxury segments in India is anticipated, which are the most sought after segments.'

Asking about the coercive actions initiated by the Telangana Police, Mr Chandiok said it was "disappointed" by the action taken by authorities which are against the spirit of the Direct Selling Guidelines issued by the Telangana State Government. The company is following each and every guideline issued by the government.

At the Convention Centre, QNET Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Malou Caluza said, 'Events like the V-Convention give us an opportunity to serve our distributors and allow them to experience us at close quarters. We have brought in around 250 staff from all over the world to support us at this convention and give our participants an unparalleled experience.'

'It is also a great platform to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship that direct selling companies like QNET spark in millions of people across the globe, enabling them to improve their lives and contribute to their communities,' she added.

With the ultimate goal of providing opportunities of absolute living for everyone, the prominent Asian direct selling company QNET hosted at least 13,000 global entrepreneurs here, the state capital of Penang in Malaysia, providing a great platform to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship that direct selling companies spark in millions of people across the globe.

The five-day global convention witnessed the convergence of high-level distributors of QNET from more than 30 countries at the Subterranean Penang International Conference & Exhibition Centre (SPICE) in Penang, one of the 13 states of Malaysia.

The mega event commonly known as V-Malaysia 2019 was hosted in Penang for the sixth consecutive year. Customers and distributors from QNET’s key regional markets in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, the Indian sub-continent, Indonesia and Malaysia attended the convention.

The opening ceremony was graced by Professor P Ramasamy, Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang, QI Group Executive Chairman Vijay Eswaran and Deputy Chairman Joseph Bismar.

'Penang is a world-renowned tourist destination and acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Heritage City. This Northern Malaysian state, furthermore, is also making significant inroads and gaining recognition as a preferred Business Events destination,' said Dr Ramasamy at the Opening Ceremony.

The convention witnessed a series of training programs, motivational speeches, the unveiling of brand-new lifestyle products of QNET, and entertainment events. A key attraction this year was the QNET Carnival which showcased over 50 brands of QNET products in one of the biggest exhibitions ever held by the company.

QNET, the flagship subsidiary of the QI Group of Companies, retails a variety of products for wellness, personal care and beauty, holidays, home care and e-learning courses among others that enhance the everyday lives of its customers around the world.

It was ranked as one of the 100 Solid Top MLM Companies for 2018 by Direct Selling news portal, Business for Home.

Last year, QNET was awarded the e-Commerce Company of the year by the Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, West Africa.
