PwDs can vitally help in welfare of nation, society :Haryana min

Chandigarh, Aug 6 (UNI) Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Om Prakash Yadav said Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are an important part of society and can also play a key role in various works of the welfare for the country and society.
The Minister of State said the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) should also compete with others as they also have dreams of making their parents proud. The purpose of schemes for PwDs is to provide social security to those unable to earn a living on their own. For this, financial assistance is given to them by the state government.
A budget of Rs 440 crore has been allotted for this scheme in the year 2020-21, out of which an amount of Rs 155.59 crore has been spent. The state government is giving honorarium of Rs 2,250 per month to the differently-abled. So far, 1,74,564 beneficiaries have been given benefits under this scheme, he added.
