New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) A private member resolution providing for a uniform reservation system in the country, was on Friday defeated in the Upper House on Friday.
In a division, the resolution , brought by Samajwadi Party member Bishambhar Prasad Nishad, got support of 32 members while 66 members voted against it.
The member refused to withdraw his resolution after the Minister for Social justice and empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot, replying to a debate on the bill, said his demand was not legally tenable.
