Punjabi singer, aide nabbed with 1.5 kg heroin

Ludhiana, Feb 17 (UNI) The Special Task Force of Punjab Police arrested a Punjabi singer and his accomplice at a naka near Mattewara village in this district late last night and recovered one and half kg heroin, a revolver alongwith five live cartridges and a mobile phone with an Italy number from them.
STF Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said Punjabi singer Gurjant Singh (24), who uses the screen name Gurr-Vir Singh, and his aide Surjit Singh (35) have connections with smugglers in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Vancouver (Canada) and Dubai (UAE). Police suspect that Gurjant used drug money to produce his music video.
Gurjant is resident of Lopoke village and Surjit alias Kalu of Mava village in Amritsar district.
