Punjabi, GNDU & KU win in North Zone women hockey

Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) Punjabi University, Patiala handed out a 13-0 drubbing to Dr RML Avadh University, in the North Zone Inter-University Hockey Championship for women in Patiala on Sunday.
Rajwinder Kaur gave a dazzling stickwork as she pumped in five goals while Pooja made substantial contribution of four goals for Punjabi University. Navjot Kaur and Sapna contributed a brace each to swell the kitty of Punjabi University.
In second match Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar overcame Panjab University, Chandigarh by 5-2. For GNDU Simranjeet Kaur and Baby scored two goals each and Gurleen scored one goal. Monika and Mudita scored 1 goal each for PU Chandigarh.
In third match Kurukshetra University got the better of Guru Jambheswar University, Hisar by 3-1. Neha scored 2 and Mamta scored 1 goal for Kurukshetra. Monika Singh scored the lone goal for GJUST Hisar.
In yet another match MD University Rohtak eked out a narrow 1-0 win over Lucknow University. Merry scored the all-important goal for Rohtak team.
