Punjab registers 2,817 fresh COVID cases, 62 deaths

Chandigarh, Sep 18 (UNI) As many as 2,817 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 62 deaths were reported in Punjab on Friday, taking the infection tally to 92,833 and the death toll to 2,708 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, the virus has so far claimed 12 lives in Ludhiana district, 10 in Jalandhar, 7 in Hoshiarpur, 6 in SAS Nagar, 5 in Patiala, 2 each in Amritsar, Barnala, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Muktsar, SBS Nagar, Sangrur and Tarn Taran and one death each in Bathinda, Moga, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Pathankot and Ropar districts today.
It further said that 437 fresh cases were reported from Ludhiana district, 401 from Amritsar, 312 from SAS Nagar, 307 from Jalandhar, 219 from Patiala, 163 from Hoshiarpur, 131 from Gurdaspur, 119 from Pathankot, 105 from Bathinda, 85 from Kapurthala, 73 from Fazilka, 69 from Faridkot, 57 from Ferozepur, 55 from Sangrur, 49 from Tarn Taran, 43 each from Muktsar and Barnala, 42 each from Ropar and Mansa, 32 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 27 from SBS Nagar and 6 new cases from Moga district.
