Punjab registers 2,160 fresh COVID cases, 56 deaths

Chandigarh, Sep 20 (UNI) As many as 2,160 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 56 deaths were reported in Punjab on Sunday, taking the infection tally to 97,689 and the death toll to 2,813 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, the virus has so far claimed 8 lives in Jalandhar district, 6 each in Fatehgarh Sahib and Amritsar, 5 in Ludhiana, 4 each in Hoshiarpur, Patiala and Ropar, 3 each in Tarn Taran and Mansa, 2 each in Faridkot, Ferozepur, Kapurthala and Pathankot and one death each in Barnala, Bathinda, Gurdaspur, SBS Nagar and Sangrur districts today.
It further said that 256 fresh cases were reported from Ferozepur district, 225 from SAS Nagar, 212 from Ludhiana, 197 from Jalandhar, 183 from Patiala, 174 from Pathankot, 148 from Bathinda, 126 from Amritsar, 104 from Gurdaspur, 94 from Hoshiarpur, 56 from Sangrur, 55 from Fazilka, 48 each from Kapurthala and Fatehgarh Sahib, 46 from Mansa, 39 from SBS Nagar, 37 from Muktsar, 36 from Barnala, 35 from Tarn Taran, 20 from Faridkot, 11 from Moga and 10 new cases from Ropar district.
