Punjab registers 1,498 fresh COVID cases, tally crosses 1 lakh mark

Chandigarh, Sep 22 (UNI) As many as 1,498 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 66 deaths were reported in Punjab on Tuesday, taking the infection tally to 1,01,341 and the death toll to 2,926 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, of the fresh deaths, 11 were reported from Jalandhar district, 9 each in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, 6 in Gurdaspur, 3 each in Bathinda, Ferozepur and Ropar, 2 each in Moga and SAS Nagar and one death each in Pathankot, Kapurthala, Sangrur, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Muktsar, Mansa and Tarn Taran districts.
It further said that 257 fresh cases were reported from Amritsar district, 227 from SAS Nagar, 127 from Patiala, 115 from Ludhiana, 93 from Gurdaspur, 92 from Kapurthala, 76 from Bathinda, 72 from Jalandhar, 66 from Ropar, 60 from Pathankot, 52 from Hoshiarpur, 44 from Muktsar, 33 from Moga, 32 each from Fazilka and Faridkot, 27 from Sangrur, 23 from SBS Nagar, 22 from Barnala, 20 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 12 each from Tarn Taran and Mansa and 4 new cases from Ferozepur district.
