Himachal CM commends efforts of SDRF during disaster

Shimla, Oct 1 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday said the state government was committed to further strengthening and empowering the State Disaster Response Force (SDFR). Sukhu was presiding over a function organised by the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Response Force (HP SDRF) at the Police Headquarters, here. The Chief Minister said necessary steps were being taken to equip this force with modern technology and equipment. The state government has released about Rs. 12.65 crore to the HP SDRF for the purchase of modern equipment. Himachal is one of the disaster-prone areas and such steps will help in expediting relief and rescue operations during disasters, said the Chief Minister.
