Punjab: Preteen dies, three of family critical after consuming poison

Phagwara, Dec 1 (UNI) Four members of a family, including a woman and her three kids, consumed poison under mysterious circumstances at their residence in the nearby village of Malikpur on Tuesday evening.

Police said that Komalpreet (11) died after consuming poison, while her mother Nirmal Kaur (34), her sister Khush Preet Kaur (10) and brother Gurfateh (6) were admitted in the local Civil Hospital. However, Nirmal and Khush Preet were referred to DMC Ludhiana, due to their critical condition.

Lucknow, Jan 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the ‘Indoor Stadium’ at Noida on Saturday.
While expressing the commitment of the state to the 'Khelo India' campaign inspired by Prime Minister Modi, CM Yogi said, “the talented players of our state have been deprived of adequate resources since long. However, our government will leave no stone unturned to provide all necessary assets to the sportspersons in order to promote sports activities."

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced the commencement of 65th National FreeStyle Senior Wrestling Championship in collaboration with Wrestling Federation of India as the first sports competition at the Noida indoor stadium. He also spoke to several eminent wrestlers including Narasimha Yadav, Amit and Gaurav Kumar and also urged them to convey the wrestlers' expectations from the state government.
