Punjab police foil major weapon & drugs smuggling bid via Indo-Pak border

Chandigarh/Tarn Taran, Oct 20 (UNI) Punjab Police on Wednesday recovered a huge cache arms and ammunition besides heroin during a search operation from near the border fencing on the Indo-Pak Border in district Tarn Taran, it was reported on Wednesday.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Counter Intelligence Amritsar in the area of BOP Mianwali Hithaar in Khemkarn sector.
Officiating Director General of Police (DGP) Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota said that the police received intelligence that some Pak border operatives are trying to move a huge consignment of arms and heroin, following which Counter Intelligence Amritsar was sent to the spot and a search operation was planned with the BSF authorities.
