Punjab: Police arrest 3 drug  smugglers with over 5 kg of heroin

Amritsar, Dec 6 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Punjab police have apprehended three persons during a nakabandi, and seized 5.06 kilo of Heroin in Ajnala area of Amritsar district on Friday. the state's top cop said.
A revolver, four mobile phones and five rounds of cartridges were also recovered from him.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on X that an FIR has been registered at Ajnala police station, and manhunt is underway for two suspects who escaped.
Further investigation is on to identify more persons involved and dismantle the smuggling network.
He also said that the police remain committed in its resolve to eliminate drug trafficking and ensure a safer Punjab. UNI GS SSP
