Punjab: Over 2 dozen injured in road accident

Phagwara, Dec 7 (UNI) More than two dozen passengers sustained injuries, ten of them seriously, when a Jalandhar-bound bus rammed into a stationary pick van from the rear side and another car rammed into the bus from the rear side before the village Bhattian near Phillaur on National Highways on Friday late evening.
The injured were admitted to Phillaur Civil Hospital.
Police said on Saturday that the accident occurred when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the stationary pickup van, which also overturned after being hit by the bus. The bus driver managed to escape, leaving the bus behind.
The police have registered a case against the bus driver. Vehicular road traffic remained suspended for more than one hour due to the tragic accident.
