Punjab: Leopard found dead in Birampur forest area, FIR registered

Hoshiarpur, Jan 14 (UNI) A leopard was found dead after being trapped in a barbed wire fence surrounding a eucalyptus plantation in the Birampur forest area in Garhshankar, police said on Tuesday.
The incident came to light on Monday when Garhshankar Forest Range Officer (FRO) Rajpal Singh and Forest Guard Ramanpreet Kaur informed the police about it, police said.
On the complaint by FRO, Garhshankar police has registered an FIR for violation of the Wildlife Protection Act.
