Punjab govt to institute award in memory of Satguru Ram Singh

Chandigarh, Jun 13 (UNI) Punjab government would soon institute an award dedicated to the founder of Namdhari sect Satguru Ram Singh during his ongoing year-long bi-centennial birth celebrations from February 12, 2016.
A decision to this effect was taken by Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal while presiding over a meeting of the state level committee to review the arrangements for the year-long bi-centennial birth celebrations of Satguru Ram Singh at Chief Minister's Residence here this morning.
Mr Badal also disclosed that a high powered delegation of SAD-BJP MPs from Punjab would soon call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to impress upon him for the ongoing bi-centennial birth celebrations of Satguru Ram Singh at the national level in recognition to his enormous contribution in the struggle for freedom from British rule.
