Punjab govt releases compensation to cholera victims families

Chandigarh, Nov 22 (UNI) With a view to provide much needed help to the families of the victims who died of Cholera in Hoshiarpur district, the Punjab government has released the compensation amount of 16 lakh.
Stating this here on Thursday, Health and Family Welfare Minister Brahm Mohinhdra said that the compensation of Rs two lakh each to the families of the eight cholera victims has been given.
He said that the amount of Rs 16 lakh has been credited in the account of Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner. As per the latest reports Industries and Commerce Minister and local MLA Sundar Sham Arora has already handed over the cheques to the bereaved families.
