Moga, Sep 20 (UNI) Farmers on Sunday burnt the copies of farm ordinances tabled in Rajya Sabha and also effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in pursuance of a call given by the 30 farm organisations at its meeting held here on Saturday.
BKU Ekta Ugrahan General Secretary Sukhdev Singh Kokri, in a statement, claimed that farmers in 450 villages burnt effigies of PM and farm ordinances in protest against anti-farmers policy of Modi Government and tabeling of the ordinances in Rajya Sabha.
He said all the 30 farmers organisations will meet here on September 23 to chalk out next line of action by the farmers after September 25 Punjab Bandh.
BKU Lakhowal, one of the constituent of 30 farm organisations, General Secretary Harinder Singh said effigies of Modi and ordinances were burnt at more than 100 places in Ludhiana district. He also said Modi Government was working on hidden agenda to abolish MSP of food grains and helping the corporate houses.
Effigies were also burnt at over one dozen places, including Dharamkot, Baghapurana and various villages in Moga district.
