Punjab constitutes disaster management committee to tackle emergent situation

Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) Punjab government has constituted a high level disaster management committee headed by Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal to tackle the emergent situation occurred after the recent surgical strikes on the international borders with Pakistan.
Stating this here today, an official spokesman said the newly constituted committee consisting of the Additional Chief Secretaries Home, Agriculture, Education, Principal Secretary Health, Secretary PWD B&R, Secretary irrigation, Public Health DGP Punjab, DGP Law and Order and IGP Intelligence had a video conference with the senior officers of border districts of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Taran Tarn, Ferozepur and Fazilka and reviewed the latest situation there.
The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister both were constantly in touch with the minute to minute situation in these areas.
