Punjab: Badal, SAD leaders serve punishment at Golden Temple

Amritsar, Dec 3 (UNI) Former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, along with former ministers and Shromani Akali Dal leaders, on Tuesday served their punishment at the Golden Temple here.
Badal, along with former Akali ministers (during 2007-2017) and other leaders like Bikram Singh Majithia, Daljeet Singh Cheema, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, and Bibi Jagir Kaur, served their punishment at the Golden Temple. Badal was seen in a blue 'sevadar' uniform.
Akal Takht, the top Sikh religious body, while announcing punishment on Monday, had directed SAD leaders to clean washrooms in the Darbar Sahib complex, wash utensils, clean devotees' shoes, and attend Kirtan at Gurudwara. They were also asked to wear a plaque reading "Tankhaiya" around their necks. The Akal Takht had declared Badal 'Tankhaiya" (guilty of religious misconduct) in August.
